Microwave-Assisted Continuous Flow for the Selective Oligomerization of Glycerol

The continuous oligomerization of glycerol for the formation polyglycerol was carried out first time under microwave activation. In presence potassium carbonate, we studied ease handling, effects temperature, flow rate and residence an inexpensive homogeneous commercial catalyst. main linear branched-chain diglycerol triglycerol regioisomers were characterized quantification different isomers realized. Successive cyclic mode processes followed by short distance distillation allowed mixture to be enriched with ethers thus obtain a (50.2 wt%), (22.1 tetraglycerol (9.5 pentaglycerol (4.3 wt%).
